Introducing Stonecutter

Stonecutter is a new and exciting New York-based journal of literature, created by a group of women who work in and are passionate about the arts.

At Stonecutter, we are excited by the idea of plurality of voice, vision and creative talent. Our journal endeavours to bridge gaps in literature and art, by creating a space free of stylistic boundaries, while setting a standard of quality work.

By placing various poets and playwrights, essayists and fiction writers side by side, Stonecutter will feature original pieces that intersect to form a subtle, unexpected dialogue. In doing so, we hope to present works that would not usually be seen or read alongside each other. We are committed to print and to producing a journal that is in itself a work of art and labor of love.
